US President Donald Trump has announced the establishment of a task force at the White House to prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to foreign media reports, the tournament will be held jointly in the United States, Canada and Mexico, in which 48 teams will participate and 104 matches will be played. The final match will be held on July 19, 2026 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
President Trump will head this task force himself, while Vice President JD Vance will be the deputy head. This team will oversee the security and planning of the tournament in cooperation with various agencies of the federal government.
According to foreign media reports, more than 100 million tourists are expected to arrive during the FIFA 2026 World Cup and more than 2 billion tourists are expected to arrive during its final, while 200,000 jobs will also be created during this event.
According to foreign media, FIFA President Gianni Infantino welcomed the move, saying that this task force will play a key role in ensuring the success and security of the tournament. He added that this is a major logistical challenge that can be compared to holding several Super Bowls every day.
The United States will also host the 2028 Summer Olympics in California, another major event in the sports calendar.
