Karachi/Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari said that Pakistan is committed to ensuring the participation of special needs people in all spheres of life.
He said that we have taken important steps for the empowerment and welfare of special needs people, the implementation of the ICT Rights of Special Needs Persons Act, 2020 is a historic achievement.
This act guarantees better access, professional training, job opportunities and an inclusive environment for special needs people in all spheres of life.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency, in his message on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the President said that today we acknowledge the perseverance, courage and valuable role of special needs people and their families.
He said that the establishment of the Council for the Rights of Special Needs Persons is an important step to address the challenges faced by persons with disabilities.
On the other hand, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in his message, emphasized the key role of disabled people in building a better Pakistan and the importance of recognizing their services. Bilawal Bhutto said that his party has always been at the forefront in protecting the rights of disadvantaged groups, including disabled people.
