Islamabad: The Privatization Commission Board has rejected the bid received for the privatization of PIA.
According to details, a meeting of the Privatization Commission Board was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan, in which various issues were considered. The board recommended rejecting the Rs 10 billion bid of Blue World City Consortium for 60 percent shares of PIA.
It was decided to establish a three-member committee to participate in the privatization process. New proposals were presented in the meeting for the privatization of PIA, which will be presented to the federal cabinet and the relevant cabinet committee.
On this occasion, the Federal Minister said that privatization matters will be decided keeping in mind the rules and regulations and the national interest. The final decision on the privatization of PIA and other institutions is to be taken by the Cabinet Committee. The process of the upcoming offer for privatization should be carried forward better and without delay. We are bound by the oath. We will definitely do whatever is done for the betterment of the country and the nation.
