The Peshawar High Court has granted bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and member of National Assembly Jamshed Dasti till September 30 in a case registered in Punjab’s Muzaffargarh district.
Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Ishtiaq Ibrahim heard the case, Jamshed Dasti’s lawyer appeared on the occasion.
During the hearing, the lawyer for the petitioner took the stand that Jamshed Dasti is an elected member of the National Assembly from Muzaffargarh, a case has been registered against him in Muzaffargarh city, a baseless case has been registered against the petitioner.
The lawyer added that the petitioners want to appear in the concerned court but are afraid of arrest.
The Peshawar High Court granted bail to Jamshed Dasti till September 30 and ordered the petitioner to appear before the concerned courts at the appointed time.
It should be noted that on July 29, the Islamabad High Court granted protective bail to Jamshed Dasti in a case filed in Muzaffargarh district of Punjab.
Earlier on July 17, the police raided the house of Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and Member of National Assembly Jamshed Dasti in Muzaffargarh to arrest him but he managed to escape.
Jamshed Dasti had said in his statement that he is being subjected to retaliation for submitting an affidavit to join Tehreek-e-Insaaf.
