Lahore: Pakistan’s senior tennis player Talha Waheed has achieved a brilliant feat and has registered his name in Guinness World Records.

He has set a new world record for making the most successful tennis serves in one minute, which is a historic moment for Pakistan.
Earlier, this world title was held by American player John Perry, who had set a world record in 2019 with 42 successful serves in one minute.
Talha Waheed is one of the country’s prominent senior tennis players. He has won several national titles in the 35+, 40+ and 45+ doubles categories, while also representing Pakistan at the international level.
He has participated in the International Tennis Federation’s Senior World Ranking tournaments and his best world ranking was 144 in the 40+ doubles category.
Talha Waheed became determined to break this Guinness Book of World Records when he learned of the world record of 42 successful serves set by John Perry of the United States in 2019.
To achieve this goal, Talha Waheed trained hard for three months and worked on every technical aspect. On November 8, 2024, he attempted to set his official record in accordance with the rules set by Guinness World Records in Lahore.
The result of his hard work and determination came on March 10, 2025, when Guinness World Records officially recognized his new record and declared him the world record holder.
Pakistan has extended its warmest congratulations to Talha Waheed. PTF President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, Secretary General Colonel Ziauddin Tufail and other officials and fellow players have termed this achievement as an important milestone for Pakistan tennis.
Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi says that Talha Waheed’s achievement is a unique feat and it is not easy for any player to make it to the Guinness Book of World Records. His achievement will prove to be a great inspiration for the development of tennis in Pakistan and young players.
Other officials of the Pakistan Tennis Federation have also encouraged Talha Waheed on this historic achievement and expressed their best wishes for his future and said that this achievement is a proud moment for Pakistan and will further help in the promotion of tennis in the country.
