The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially released the much-anticipated international schedule for the Pakistan women’s cricket team for the 2025-26 season. This upcoming cricketing year is being hailed as one of the busiest and most critical in the team’s history, as it includes participation in two prestigious ICC World Cups, in addition to several bilateral series, development camps, and tri-nation competitions.

Overview of the 2025-26 Season

The upcoming season begins in August 2025 and runs through July 2026. The year will test the mettle of the women’s national team across formats and conditions. It offers an excellent opportunity for Pakistan’s women cricketers to display their growing skills and strengthen their standing in the international cricket community. PCB’s efforts reflect a strong commitment to the growth and professional development of women’s cricket in Pakistan.

Key Highlights of the Schedule

  • Two ICC World Cups: ODI World Cup in Sri Lanka (October–November 2025) and T20 World Cup in England (June–July 2026)
  • Multiple Bilateral Series: Matches against Ireland, South Africa, and Zimbabwe
  • Tri-National Series: Participation in a triangular T20 series in Ireland alongside West Indies
  • U-19 Development: National T20 tournament and skill development camp for future talent

Detailed Schedule Breakdown

The action kicks off in August with a three-match T20I series in Ireland. Scheduled from August 6 to August 10, the series will serve as a valuable warm-up ahead of the ODI season. • Venue: Ireland
  • Matches: 3 T20 Internationals

September 2025: Home ODI Series vs South Africa

Series Details:

  • Dates: September 16–22, 2025
  • Venue: Lahore, Pakistan
  • Matches: 3 One Day Internationals

October–November 2025: ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup

The biggest event of the season, the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, will be held in Sri Lanka. Due to ongoing political tensions, Pakistan will play all its matches, including any potential knockout games, on neutral Sri Lankan soil.

  • Semi-final: October 29, 2025 (if qualified)

Pakistan’s squad will be looking to make a deep run in the tournament, with a strong mix of experienced players and emerging talent.

February–March 2026: Tour of South Africa

The Pakistan women’s team will travel to South Africa in early 2026 for a full-format bilateral series. This includes three ODIs and three T20Is. The series will be a vital part of the preparation for the T20 World Cup in England.

  • Dates: February 7–March 2, 2026
  • Venue: South Africa
  • Matches: 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is

April–May 2026: Home Series Against Zimbabwe

The Zimbabwe women’s cricket team will visit Pakistan for a bilateral series comprising three ODIs and three T20Is. The home series, to be held from April 24 to May 11, 2026, is expected to further bolster team momentum ahead of summer fixtures.

Series Details:

  • Dates: April 24–May 11, 2026
  • Venue: Pakistan
  • Matches: 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is

May–June 2026: Tri-Nation T20 Series in Ireland

Before heading to England for the ICC T20 World Cup, the Pakistan women’s team will participate in a tri-nation T20I series in Ireland. Along with the hosts and West Indies, this competition will offer top-tier match practice in European conditions.

Series Details:

  • Dates: May–June 2026
  • Venue: Ireland
  • Teams: Pakistan, Ireland, West Indies

June–July 2026: ICC Women’s T20 World Cup

U-19 Women’s Cricket Development Program

The PCB has also unveiled an extensive development program for the women’s U-19 team, signaling long-term investment in grassroots cricket.

  • Purpose: International exposure for emerging players

PCB’s Vision and Management Comments

Rafia Haider, Head of Women’s Cricket at PCB, emphasized the strategic importance of this packed schedule:

“This season is of utmost importance, which includes two World Cups. We have arranged the schedule in such a way that the players can achieve the best form and play an important role in the success of the team.”

She further stated that regular high-stakes competition will help bridge the gap between Pakistan and the world’s top-ranked sides. The structured calendar also allows players to develop specific skill sets, match fitness, and gain invaluable international exposure.

Road Ahead: Opportunities and Challenges

With a packed international schedule, Pakistan’s women cricketers face both opportunities and challenges. The key lies in consistent performances, injury management, strategic planning, and maintaining team morale. With rising stars and senior leaders combining forces, the upcoming year holds immense promise.

PCB’s structured and progressive approach towards scheduling reflects its long-term commitment to lifting Pakistan women’s cricket onto the global stage.
