Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan is of key importance in the region geographically.
On the occasion of his visit to Karachi, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reached Karachi Port Trust, Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting regarding Karachi Port Trust, Port Qasim Authority and National Shipping Corporation.
In the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif was briefed regarding the operations of Karachi Port Trust, Port Qasim and Pakistan National Shipping Corporation.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is geographically of key importance in the region. Recently, during my visit to Kazakhstan, I met Russian President Vladimir Putin and the leaders of Central Asian countries. Provides the most suitable way of trading.
He said that Central Asian states have expressed keen interest in using Pakistan’s ports for trade, modernizing port systems and further improving access to them.
Shahbaz Sharif said that this could earn Pakistan billions of dollars in foreign exchange. Early installation of modern scanning machinery at ports should be ensured and steps should be taken on priority basis to fully utilize the capacity of ports.
He further said that the capacity of delivery of goods to and from Karachi port should be increased by rail.
