Islamabad: The Foreign Office spokesperson has said that Pakistan has serious reservations over the transfer of modern technologies to India. The Indo-US joint statement is baseless and incorrect.
In a weekly briefing to journalists, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan told that at the invitation of the Prime Minister, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan paid a two-day official visit. He was warmly welcomed by the President and the Prime Minister. MoUs and agreements were signed at the end of the session.
He said that the two countries participated in the seventh meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council. Discussions were held to further strengthen the centuries-old deep religious, civilizational, cultural, linguistic and historical relations between the two countries. During the visit, it was agreed to promote the tested and exemplary brotherhood and mutual cooperation of the people and governments of the two countries in difficult times.
According to the spokesperson, the existing bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey in all fields was reiterated. It was agreed to promote defense, trade, investment, banking, finance, education, health, energy, culture, tourism, transport and communication, agriculture, water, science and technology.
Shafqat Ali Khan said that we express our condolences to the families of the victims of the boat accident in Marsa Dilla in Libya. Pakistan’s stance on terrorism and foreign occupation has not changed. 2 Kashmiris were killed in occupied Kashmir, we demand an independent investigation into their deaths. Ishaq Dar will soon attend a meeting of the United Nations Security Council.

He said that all countries are important to us under foreign policy. The appointment of ambassadors is a normal matter. The issue of returning illegal immigrants from the US is part of Pak-US mutual communication. This is normal between the two countries. Any country can send back illegal immigrants. Pakistan and the US have long-standing relations.
The spokesperson said that the United Arab Emirates is our historical friend. 1.8 million Pakistanis are living in the UAE who come and go. Due to many booked flights, there are problems in coming and going to the UAE, however, the UAE does not agree with any kind of restriction for Pakistanis.
In a briefing to journalists, Shafqat Ali Khan further said that Afghanistan is Pakistan’s neighbor. A major issue is the presence of TTP in Afghanistan, this issue has been repeatedly raised with the Afghan government.
Reacting to the US Congressman’s tweet about democracy in Pakistan, the Foreign Office spokesperson said that elections were held in Pakistan, as a result of which there is an elected government. This is the personal opinion of a member and we cannot say anything more on it. Pakistan wants better relations with the US. Pak-US relations are based on non-interference in each other’s state affairs.
It should be noted that US Congressman Joe Wilson had tweeted about the restoration of democracy in Pakistan.
