ISLAMABAD: It was agreed to increase the trade and investment between Pakistan and Azerbaijan from the level of 100 million dollars to 2 billion dollars.
The two countries have signed 15 memorandums of understanding and agreements, covering trade, tourism, minerals, science and technology, law and justice and cultural exchange programs.
These agreements and memorandums of Pakistan with Azerbaijan are related to the visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to Azerbaijan in November this year.
SIFC facilitated and provided a common platform for the execution of these agreements. These agreements and memorandums will be finalized during the visit of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to Pakistan.
Apart from this, mutual trade between the two countries also shows interest for investment in petroleum and energy sectors. These agreements will prove to be important milestones in the economic development of Pakistan. These agreements will further promote cooperation and brotherhood between the two countries.
