ISLAMABAD: Election Commission has given deadline to other political parties including Sunni Ittehad Council to submit their annual returns.
A two-member commission headed by Member Sindh Nisar Durrani held a hearing on the summons for non-submission of annual returns to 48 political parties.
Many other parties, including the Stabilization Pakistan Party, PTI Dohonori, MDB and Balochistan Awami Party, could not appear before the Election Commission.
Sunni Ittehad Council, Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Green Democratic Pakistan, Pak Defense Moment, BNP Mengal, Aam Aadmi Tehreek Pakistan and other political parties appeared before the Election Commission.
The Sindh member asked the Election Commission officials what action the Election Commission can take against the political parties. The Election Commission officials replied that the Election Commission can withdraw the electoral symbol of the political parties.
Various political parties requested for respite to submit the annual returns, on which the Election Commission accepted the request to submit the annual returns to the political parties.
The Election Commission adjourned the hearing of the case till November 21.
