Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched the Motor Vehicle Automation System under the “Dastak” platform.
Through this system, all matters like vehicle registration, fee payment, transfer of ownership, tax payment and universal number plates will be digitized.
The inauguration ceremony of the Motor Vehicle Automation System was held at the Chief Minister’s House in which Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, Speaker Provincial Assembly, provincial cabinet members, officials and officials of the Excise Department and other dignitaries attended. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur formally launched the system.
The system was initially launched on a trial basis in September 2023, under which 13,229 vehicle registrations, 71,654 vouchers and 6,437 vehicle ownership transfers were completed. Through this initiative, the provincial government earned more than Rs 28 crore and 13,738 vehicles were issued universal number plates under this system. Now this system has been implemented with full capacity across the province.
Thanks to this modern system, citizens will not have to visit offices for vehicle registration, payment of fees and universal number plates. Citizens will now be able to get all these services and facilities online from home. This initiative will also make it possible to effectively prevent theft and misuse of vehicles.

He said that digitization will bring transparency in government affairs, eliminate corruption and improve the efficiency of departments. We had decided to digitize all departments as soon as we came to power.
The Chief Minister further said that we have increased our income by 49 percent by using our resources wisely and are saving Rs 11 billion annually through the health card. The country is ours, we have made sacrifices for it in the past and will continue to do so, hopefully we will get our full rights, if not, we will go to every forum.
He said that modern technology will be provided for the eradication of drugs so that its eradication is possible. He appealed to the public to cooperate with the excise officials for the eradication of drugs, if we work together, there is no challenge that we cannot solve.
