Peshawar: A report by a parliamentary committee on the damage caused by the police action on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad during the Tehreek-e-Insaf protest in Islamabad on October 5 last year has come to light.
According to the report, the damage has been estimated at more than Rs 30 million, the Chief Minister’s lost belongings are estimated at Rs 35 million, which includes an M4 rifle worth Rs 25 million, an iPhone worth Rs 600,000, a bulletproof jacket worth Rs 150,000 and three glasses worth Rs 400,000.
In addition, weapons and vehicles worth Rs 40 million were damaged, the value of missing mobile phones and cash is estimated at Rs 20 million and the damage to the vehicles of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat is estimated at Rs 10 million.
Gas masks, mobile phones and power banks worth Rs 4.5 million also disappeared from KP House. A parliamentary committee of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was formed to assess the vandalism and damage. A 12-member committee headed by Munir Hussain Laghmani conducted an investigation. The investigation report will be presented in the assembly today.
