Nottingham: On the second day of the second Test between England and the West Indies, the West Indian batting line showed strong resistance against England. By the end of the second day’s play, West Indies scored 351 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the first innings thanks to a brilliant century by Keum Hodge.
On the second day of the second Test of the ongoing series in Nottingham, West Indies scored 351 runs for the loss of 5 wickets while the deficit of 65 runs is yet to be recovered.
Keum Hodge scored 120 runs for West Indies. Alec Athanze 82, skipper Craig Braithwaite 48, Michael Lewis 21 and Kirk McKenzie 11.
By the end of the second day’s play, Jason Holder and Joshua Da Silva were at the crease with 23 and 32 runs respectively.
For England, Shoaib Bashir took 2 while Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson and Ben Stokes took 1 each.

On the invitation of West Indies, the England team was bowled out for 416 runs in 88.3 overs at the end of the first day.
Ollie Pope, who scored the sixth century of his career, scored 121 runs. Ben Duckett 71, skipper Ben Stokes 69, Chris Woakes 37, Harry Brook 36, Jamie Smith 36, Joe Root 14, Shoaib Bashir 5, Gut Atkinson 2 and Zach Crowley 0 runs out.
Mark Wood returned to the pavilion unbeaten by scoring 13 runs.
Azari Joseph took 3 wickets for West Indies. Kevin Sinclair, Keum Hodge and Jaden Sales each went 2, while Shemar Joseph struck out 1.
The first day’s play ended with the fall of England’s last wicket. West Indies will start their innings from the start of the second day.
