Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that a decisive situation has arisen in the country at the moment and there is no way left but to use force to stop the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Reacting to the ongoing protests of the PTI, he has claimed that Bushra Bibi, wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, is now dreaming of becoming a leader.
He said that a decisive situation has arisen in the country at the moment and there is no way left but to use force to stop the PTI.
The Defense Minister said that if the protesters sit in Islamabad, it will be a big setback for the country.
This statement by Khawaja Asif came at a time when the main convoy of the PTI protest for the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and approval of other demands is moving towards Islamabad under the leadership of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi, while reports of clashes between police and protesters are also being received at several places.
In view of the PTI protest, the government has completely sealed the roads of Islamabad and has erected containers on most of the routes leading to the federal capital, while internet service has been suspended in the twin cities due to security concerns.
A large number of police, Rangers and FC personnel have been deployed on all routes leading to Islamabad, while motorways, GT Road and other roads are blocked with containers.
Yesterday, when the PTI convoy entered the boundaries of Punjab, it was heavily shelled by the police, while Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that whoever reaches D-Chowk will be arrested, our first and last effort is to ensure that people’s lives are not lost, that property is safe, and that the protesters and we have a different goal.
Yesterday, Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi announced that she would stand until her last breath and said that we will not end this march until Khan comes to us.
Addressing the workers from the main truck during the PTI’s march towards Islamabad, Bushra Bibi said, “My children and my brothers! Until Khan comes to us, we will not end this march.”
She said, “I will stand until my last breath. You people have to support me. Even if you don’t, I will stand, because this is not just about my husband, this is about this country and the leader of this country.”
She said, “I have no hope, I believe that the Pathans are a proud nation and they will not leave us until the last battle.” Bushra Bibi also shouted “Allahu Akbar” at the end of her speech.
