The famous American streaming platform Netflix went down during the boxing event, disappointing fans.
According to foreign media reports, Netflix suffered streaming problems during the live boxing event between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul on Friday, which worried users.
Even before the match at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, users complained of poor video quality, broken pixels, streaming stops and even app crashes.
More than 80,000 reports of Netflix down were recorded in the United States alone, while the hashtag Netflix crash also started trending on social media platform X.
Website tracking platform Down Detector reported an increase in reports of problems on the Netflix website at 8 pm local time, which reached 88,700 complaints at 9:30 pm.
Users on X shared GIFs and photos of the video glitches during the boxing match, which were met with sarcastic comments and heavy criticism of the streaming website.
There were also reports of streaming issues during the main event, which started after 11 p.m., but these were fewer than the initial complaints. A Netflix spokesperson did not immediately comment on the matter.
It should be noted that 58-year-old boxer Mike Tyson, a former heavyweight champion and a big name in the boxing world, faced 27-year-old Jake Paul, a YouTuber-turned-boxer. Fans were excited for the big fight and thousands of people were watching the fight simultaneously on Netflix when they encountered streaming problems.
