Tel Aviv: An Israeli MP has claimed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s son, Yair Netanyahu, has been sent to Miami, US, after an alleged attack on his father.
The allegation was made by Labor Party member of Knesset (parliament) Naama Lazimi, who asked the government what justification it has for continuing to provide security funds for Yair Netanyahu’s stay in the US?
Naama Lazimi said that Yair Netanyahu is accused of desecrating a “symbol of state authority”, so his stay in Miami is being financed through public funds.
According to her, questions are also being raised about the expenses of Netanyahu’s wife Sara Netanyahu’s two-month stay abroad.
Netanyahu’s Likud party has threatened legal action, calling the claim “false and malicious.” The party said it was a baseless accusation by political opponents.
Yair Netanyahu left Israel in 2023, first moving to Puerto Rico and then to Miami. His lawyers say he is out of the country for political reasons and cannot lead a normal life in Israel.
The legal battle over the case is ongoing, and the dispute has become part of a broader political debate over the Netanyahu family’s activities and public funding.
