Negotiations have begun between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the government committee at the Speaker House, with Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq presiding over the meeting of the negotiation committees.
The government committee includes Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Rana Sanaullah, Naveed Qamar, Raja Pervez Ashraf and Farooq Sattar, while the PTI includes Asad Qaiser, Ijaz Chaudhry, Hamid Raza and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas.
Before the negotiations with PTI, members of the government committee met Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq.
‘No knowledge of establishment’s willingness to negotiate’
Rejecting the government’s accusation of insincerity in the PTI negotiations, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said that senior politicians have been included in the government committee.
He made it clear that his job is only to facilitate, both sides will make their own decisions.
On the question of the establishment’s willingness to negotiate, he claimed that he only had contact with the government and the opposition. He suggested raising the issue of holding a meeting of the committee with the founder of PTI in the negotiations.
‘The government should have taken the first step for negotiations’
PTI negotiation committee member Allama Raja Nasir Abbas has made it clear that problems are solved only at the negotiation table, the country is currently surrounded by problems.
He said that the government should have taken the first step for negotiations, but the founder of PTI taking this first step is proof of his patriotism.

Sunni Ittehad Council head Sahibzada Hamid Raza said that Imran Khan’s release is among our demands, the government will answer whether the establishment is on board or not.

PML-N Senator Irfan Siddiqui clarified that we are going for talks with an open heart and mind and with good expectations.
He said that keeping the past aside, we are moving forward with good intentions and it is expected that it will yield good results.

Describing talks between political parties as necessary, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, a member of the government’s negotiation committee, said that we cannot stop coming to the Assembly just because someone is wrong or right.
