The alleged affair between 90s actress Neelam Kothari and superstar Govinda has been in the news for years. However, Neelam has broken her silence in a recent interview by calling the reports baseless.
Neelam Kothari, who is now the wife of actor Sameer Soni and mother of a daughter, said in an interview: “Govinda and I were just professional colleagues. Being a part of rumours was the norm at that time, and the same happened to us. If you did 2-3 films with someone, people thought you were dating.”
On the other hand, an old interview of Govinda has resurfaced, in which he revealed that he wanted to marry Neelam.
Govinda said: “I wanted to marry Neelam and there is nothing wrong with that.”
He also said that working with Neelam made his fiancée Sunita (now his wife) feel insecure and their relationship was on the verge of ending.
Govinda also admitted that he did not tell Neelam about his marriage for a year and during that time he continued to behave inappropriately in their personal relationships.
