Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has demanded from the federal government to convene a meeting of the Council of Common Interests.
In a statement, the Sindh Chief Minister said that under Article 154 (4) of the Constitution, it is mandatory to convene a meeting of the Council of Common Interests every 90 days.
Murad Ali Shah said that it has been 9 months and not a single meeting of the Council of Common Interests has been convened.
Probationary officers of the Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service also met with Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. Murad Ali Shah welcomed the officers’ study visit to the Chief Minister’s House.
He expressed his best wishes for the future of the officers, but clarified that professionalism and honesty are important in a career.
The Chief Minister, while informing the officers about several initiatives of the Sindh government, said that the annual development program of Sindh is Rs 493.09 billion, of which the federal PSDP share is Rs 76.97 billion, there are external aid projects worth Rs 334 billion, while Rs 55 billion has been kept for the district development program.
Stating the priorities of the provincial government, the Chief Minister clarified that along with primary education, teacher training and reconstruction of flood-affected schools are the top priorities.
