Former national cricket team selector Muhammad Yousaf’s differences and reason for resignation came to light.
According to sources, there was a heated discussion with the coaches of the selection committee on whether or not to select the players for the series against England.
Sources said that the coaches were not in favor of changes, they wanted continuity, but Muhammad Yousaf emphasized on giving opportunities to new players, saying that giving opportunities to the same players despite poor performance is not giving a good impression.
Sources say that the coach kept insisting on the policy of consistency and not rushing, Muhammad Yousaf wanted to give Kamran Ghulam, Zahid Mehmood and Muhammad Ali a chance in the series against England.
According to the sources, the coach disagreed with Abdullah Shafiq’s decision to rest and work on his technique.
The sources further said that there was no agreement between the selectors and the coaches on the change in the categories of the central contracts.
