Karachi: Indian fast bowler Mohammad Shami’s return to cricket may be delayed, the management does not want to rush in this regard.
Mohammad Shami last played competitive cricket in the ODI World Cup held in his country last year, during which he suffered an ankle injury.
He underwent ankle surgery in February and is now undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy. He has started bowling practice but is unlikely to return for the home series against Bangladesh next month.
Shami’s target is the opening match of the Ranji Trophy in October, with the management not wanting to take any risks with the fitness of their key fast bowler due to the busy season.
