ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has decided to seek the support of Mufti Taqi Usmani, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other scholars on the review petition of the Punjab government in the Mubarak Sani case.
The hearing on the review appeal filed by the Punjab government against the decision of the Mubarak Sani case has started in the Supreme Court. Mufti Taqi Usmani in Turkey is participating online through video link while Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Attorney General and others are present in the court.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa is hearing the case.
The Attorney General said that when he gave the decision in the review of the Mubarak Sani case, the parliament and the scholars contacted the federal government, it was said that the Supreme Court should be approached through the government. And instructions were also given by the Prime Minister, obviously, a second revision is not possible, therefore an application has come before you under the Civil Code.
The Attorney General said that if the court issued notices to the parties, the parties have appeared in the court and through video link, since the matter is religious, then the scholars should be heard.

Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa said that it should not be said but I am forced to, I pray in every prayer that Allah does not make me make any wrong decision, a person is known by his words and actions, the matter of parliament is on the head. The Supreme Court decided to take assistance from Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Mufti Sher Muhammad and other scholars present in the court. Abu-Khair Muhammad Zubair, Farid Paracha of Jamaat-e-Islami will also assist the court.
The Chief Justice said that we had also asked Mufti Taqi Usmani for assistance, he is in Turkey, we bothered Mufti Muneebur Rehman to come, but he did not come. On this, the representative of Mufti Muneeb said that I was sent by Mufti Muneebur Rehman.
