Islamabad: During the hearing of the case of recovery of a missing citizen, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the Islamabad High Court remarked that the Missing Persons Commission works and does not allow it to work, but is only deceiving.
In the case of recovery of missing citizen of Azad Kashmir Mudassar Khan, the court ordered the DGMI to submit a sealed envelope report.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the Islamabad High Court heard the case. Lawyer Iman Zainab Mazari appeared in the court on behalf of petitioner Nazima Fatehyab, while the Assistant Attorney General and a representative of the Ministry of Defense also appeared before the court.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked that what is the use of this commission if it does not work, let alone close this commission, if that commission had worked, why would this petitioner come to the High Court here?
The Assistant Attorney General said that the petitioner’s husband is missing from Muzaffarabad, an FIR has been registered there. The court inquired whether the Army, ISI and MI there are separate or the same?
Advocate Iman Mazari said that this case has been under hearing in the Missing Persons Commission since August, on November 18, the petitioner received a call from her husband from a number that he was in the custody of the agency, in the Ahmed Farhad case, the phone call was said to withdraw the application from the High Court and the husband will come home in a few days.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani said in his remarks that if the call came, it means that he is alive and well, I want to hear it, let the officer come and brief him in camera then we will see.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till December 27.
