Islamabad, The Pakistan Education Endowment Fund (PEEF), hosted Scholarship Celebration Ceremony at the National Education Institute (NEI), B-17 Islamabad.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training; Mr. Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, Secretary for Federal Education and Professional Training; Miss Farah Naz Akbar, Parliamentary Secretary for Federal Education; and Syeda Hajra Suhail, Chief Executive Officer of PEEF. The event also brought together dignitaries, educationists, Official from different departments and Scholarships Beneficiaries.
The Chief guest Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddique along with other guests toured the NEI campus, interacted with PEEF scholarship beneficiaries, and visited the culinary arts cooking competition. CEO PEEF, Syeda Hajra Suhail, and Col. Majid Khan, Head of NEI, briefed them on the institute’s initiatives and achievements.
In his keynote address, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui emphasized the importance of skill-based education for Pakistan’s youth, stating that we are living in an era where education must be more than theoretical knowledge; it must prepare our young minds to be leaders in innovation and industry. Programs like Inter-Tech are setting a precedent by blending academic learning with practical expertise.
He further added that the Government of Pakistan is committed to bridging the gap between education and employability. Initiatives like PEEF’s scholarships ensure that no talented student is left behind due to financial constraints. Our collective vision is to build a nation where every individual is equipped to contribute meaningfully to the country’s progress.
Mr. Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, Secretary for Federal Education and Professional Training, spoke about the significance of communication skills for the skilled workforce, saying that education is not just about acquiring knowledge; it’s about effectively presenting your skills to the world. We must focus on equipping our youth with the tools to showcase their talents and seize global opportunities.
Syeda Hajra Sohail, CEO of PEEF, shed light on the organization’s initiatives, particularly the Inter-Tech Scholarship Program. She said that through programs like Inter-Tech, PEEF has redefined the way education is delivered, combining classroom learning with real-world applications. She added that Our focus is to nurture talent and remove financial barriers for students, especially from underserved areas, by providing them fully funded scholarships to excel in their fields and equip students with the skills to thrive in a competitive job market.
The ceremony also featured inspiring testimonials from scholarship recipients, who shared how PEEF’s support has transformed their lives and opened doors to new opportunities.
