A police officer was martyred when terrorists fired at a police post in Mardan, the second largest city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the police, the incident of firing took place at the police post located in Tehsil Takhtbhai Archeology of Mardan. Early in the morning miscreants opened fire at the checkpoint, as a result of which a police officer named Umar Nabi was martyred.
As a result of the firing, 2 officials, Constable Muhammad Fayaz and Constable Shabbir, were also seriously injured. The dead body and injured personnel were immediately shifted to Mardan Medical Complex (MMC).
The police have said that immediately after the incident, a heavy contingent reached the spot and surrounded the area and started a search operation.
In this regard, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has condemned the terrorist attack on Mardan police post in his statement. He has paid homage to the police constable who was martyred in the attack.
Mohsin Naqvi expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the family of the martyred constable and said that the martyred constable met the highest level of martyrdom in the performance of his duties. Salute to the brave son of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police Umar Nabi.
