Mumbai: Indian actress Esha Kupekar has revealed in a recent interview that she faced the “casting couch” many times in the film industry right from the beginning of her career.
Actress Esha Kopekar, who rose to fame with the film “Krishna Cottage”, revealed that when she was approached for the first time for “Casting Couch”, she was only She was 18 years old. They were touched inappropriately and told to be “more friendly”.
In her recent interview, Esha Kupackar talked about the casting couch in Bollywood and said that here the “heroes” decide the fate of female stars. During my time many actresses left the industry, either the girls gave up or their demands were fulfilled. There are very few women who are still in the industry and have not given up and I am one of them.
Esha added that when I was 23 years old, an A-list actor from the Hindi film industry asked me to meet him alone, without my driver or anyone else, because the actor wanted to be with other actresses. There were rumors. “There are already controversies about me, and the staff spreads rumours,” he said. But I refused and told them that I cannot come alone.
Esha Kopacker also revealed how the actors’ and directors’ secretaries used to touch her ‘inappropriately’. They wouldn’t just come and touch you inappropriately, but would flap their arms and say, “You’ll have to be friends with heroes.”
Esha Kupekar started her career as a model before making her Bollywood debut with the film ‘Fiza’ in 2000. Apart from Bollywood, he has also done notable work in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Marathi film industries.
