Famous Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee and senior actress Sharmila Tagore’s film ‘Gul Mohar’ won the Best Hindi Film Award at the 70th National Film Awards.
According to media reports, India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced the winners of the 70th National Film Awards at a press conference in New Delhi on Friday.
Among the winners of the 70th National Film Awards is Manoj Bajpayee and Sharmila Tagore’s ‘Gul Mohar’, which was awarded the Best Hindi Film Award.
Indian media said in its report that senior actress Sharmila Tagore, who returned to the world of acting after 13 years, played the role of a homosexual in the film ‘Gul Mohar’.
On the other hand, Manoj Bajpayee played the role of Sharmila Tagore’s son in the film, who she adopts, while the rest of the cast included Sooraj Sharma, Amul Palikar, Kaveri Seth and Simran.
Directed by Rahul V. Chatela, ‘Gul Mohar’ was produced by Star Studios and Chalkboard Entertainment and released on March 3, 2023.
