The Lahore High Court has sought response from the Deputy Commissioner and other parties on the petition of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) regarding permission to hold a Protest at Minar Pakistan on February 8.
Lahore High Court Justice Farooq Haider heard the petition of PTI Punjab Chief Organizer Alia Hamza.
The petitioner has taken the stand that an application was made to the DC Lahore on January 29 for permission to hold a Protest at Minar Pakistan on February 8, but no hearing was held.
The petition states that whenever PTI seeks permission for a Protest, a law and order issue is made.
On the other hand, Advocate Ishtiaq A Khan has also filed a petition in the Lahore High Court against the possible arrests of PTI workers.
IG Punjab, CCPO Lahore and others have been made parties in the petition.
The petitioner has taken the position that lists of PTI workers have been compiled before the February 8 Protest, under which there is a fear of arrests and harassment of workers.
The court has been requested to order a stay on the possible arrests of PTI workers.
It should be noted that yesterday, PTI had filed an application in the Lahore High Court for a Protest at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on February 8.
The application requested that the Deputy Commissioner Lahore and others be directed to allow a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on February 8 and to prevent the harassment and kidnapping of innocent PTI workers.
On January 29, PTI Punjab Chief Organizer Alia Hamza had said that on February 8, blood was shed on the mandate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, we will hold a Protest at Minar-e-Pakistan against it.
She said that if permission is not given for the Protest at Minar-e-Pakistan, we will take legal action.
They had threatened to observe a black day if permission for the Protest was not obtained, making it clear that there is no time for the Protest, and this time they would not accept any restrictions.
