Provincial Advisor Barrister Saif has informed that the first convoy of vehicles for Kurram district left at 10 am. The convoy consisting of 75 large vehicles that left in the security fence includes 22 wheelers, 10 wheelers and 6 wheeler trucks.
These trucks contain food and beverages, medicines, gas cylinders and other goods, 5 trucks of medicines, 10 trucks of vegetables, 9 trucks of ghee and cooking oil, 5 trucks of flour, 7 trucks of sugar, 2 trucks of gas cylinders and 26 trucks of other grocery items.
Convoys of vehicles have gathered at Chapri, with police and other law enforcement agencies taking care of security.
It should be noted that in the last months of 2024, 44 people were killed in a shooting on a passenger bus in the Parachinar area of Kurram Agency, after which dozens more people lost their lives as a result of armed tribal clashes and shooting in different areas of Kurram Agency.
Due to the closure of roads and protests by the warring parties, there was a shortage of food and medicine in Kurram Agency, after which emergency relief supplies were sent to Parachinar by a helicopter of the federal cabinet.
The sit-in at Parachinar Press Club continued for several days, during which the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen also blocked roads at various places in Karachi. Later, after several rounds of negotiations in the Grand Jirga of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and tribal elders, a peace agreement was reached between the parties.
Following the peace agreement, the ongoing protests in various parts of the country, including Karachi, were ended, after which the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has sent relief supplies to Kurram Agency today.
