During alleged police encounters in different areas of the city, 3 suspects were arrested in an injured condition and weapons and motorcycles were recovered from their possession.
According to details, on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, a gunfight broke out between the police and the dacoits near the Elahi Masjid in the Machhar Colony area of Docks Police Station. A dacoit named Umar Farooq, son of Abdul Ghafoor, was arrested in an injured condition while his accomplices fled the scene. The injured dacoit was shifted to the Civil Trauma Center. The police started interrogating the arrested dacoit.
In an exchange of fire between police and dacoits on the service road near the Super Highway Chakar Hotel area of Site Super Highway Police Station, a dacoit named Saleem son of Aslam was arrested in an injured condition, while his accomplices fled the scene. The injured dacoit was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Weapons and a motorcycle were recovered from the possession of the arrested dacoit.
During the encounter near the Drug Road Nallahale Bridge, the police arrested Babar son of Muhammad Iqbal, a dacoit. The injured dacoit was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for treatment and medical assistance.
