Kapil Dev, the captain of the Indian team who won the World Cup for the first time in 1983, announced to donate his pension for the treatment of former cricketer Anushman Gaikwad.
Former Indian captain Kapil Dev has requested the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) to provide financial assistance to former Test cricketer Anushman Gaekwad, who is currently suffering from blood cancer and is undergoing treatment in a London hospital.
Kapil Dev said that the rest of the players who played with him including Sunil Gavaskar, Sandeep Patel, Madan Lal, Ravi Shastri, Keerthy Azad and others are also trying their best to raise funds for Gaekwad’s treatment.
The former Indian captain hoped that the BCCI would look into the matter and provide financial assistance for Gaekwad’s treatment.
Kapil Dev said that it is happy that today’s players are earning good money, in our time the board didn’t have that much money, today they should take care of the former players but unfortunately we don’t have any system.
