Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has admitted that she made a mistake in her decisions regarding her directorial debut, ‘Emergency’.
According to Indian media, in a recent interview, Kangana admitted that releasing the film in theaters was a wrong decision. She said that it would have been better to release the film on an online platform, because in the current circumstances, she is afraid of the delay in the film’s theatrical release.
Kangana, who played the role of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in Emergency, revealed that the Central Bureau of Film Certification (CBFC) has been delaying the approval of the film for several months, due to which she fears that something will be deleted or left in the film.
She said that releasing on an OTT platform would have been the best solution to avoid censorship issues, it would have been better to release it online than in a theatrical release.
Kangana further said that she took some things for granted, thinking that the film’s release would be easy during the Bharatiya Janata Party government. However, she now realises that she made wrong decisions at various levels, including directing the film.
The actress said that she was disappointed but faced the situation. Some scenes had to be reshot on the instructions of the censor board, however, she claims that what was deleted was based on reality and there is evidence for it.
