Islamabad: Justice Muneeb Akhtar walked out of the Judicial Commission meeting chaired by the Chief Justice.
According to sources, Justice Muneeb Akhtar walked out of the Judicial Commission meeting chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faiz Isa.
Justice Muneeb Akhtar proposed to adjourn the meeting of the Judicial Commission, which the Commission disagreed with. According to sources, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah read the draft of the proposed recommendations in the meeting. Justice Muneeb Akhtar opined that the meeting should be postponed until the matter of constitutional amendment is finalized.
Justice Muneeb Akhtar added in his opinion that the meeting of the Judicial Commission was postponed in May also because of the constitutional amendment.
Before the break in the Judicial Commission meeting, an important dialogue took place between Justice Muneeb Akhtar and the Attorney General.
According to the sources, Justice Muneeb Akhtar inquired that the constitutional amendment was told in the last meeting. Explain the proposed constitutional amendment.
The Attorney General said that the law minister can answer this question. Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan replied that the Judicial Commission has no authority to ask this question. The Judicial Commission cannot ask this from the government.
After the reply of Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, Justice Muneeb Akhtar left the meeting.
