Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Jason Gillespie as the head coach of the national team for the tour of Australia.
According to the PCB statement, he will take over the additional responsibilities of the resigned head coach of the White Ball team, Gary Kirsten, whose resignation has been accepted.
Red Ball team head coach Jason Gillespie has been informed about going with the team to Australia.
After Gary Kirsten resigned, Jason Gillespie was the first choice as head coach and, being an Australian, he did not even need a visa. Jason Gillespie is well-experienced in Australian conditions, which is why he has been preferred over selector Aqib Javed.
Aqib Javed was not too interested in taking over immediately.
