The Israeli army has carried out airstrikes on the international airport in Yemen’s capital Sanaa and the port of Hodeidah.
According to Israeli media reports, the attack by 100 Israeli air force planes targeted the runway, control tower and aircraft of Sanaa airport, while rockets were fired at military bases and a power plant at Hodeidah port.
According to Arab media, the Israeli army bombed the Houthi leader during his speech. The Israeli army claims that it destroyed warplanes and civilian aircraft used by the Houthi rebels in the attacks.
Meanwhile, the WHO chief said that he was at Sanaa airport during the Israeli airstrike and the airport was bombed shortly before departure.
He revealed that the airport’s runway, air traffic control tower and departure lounge were destroyed in the Israeli attack.
Tedros Adhanom said he was sitting in the departure lounge when he heard the roar of planes and the sounds of explosions, which caused chaos. However, he was unharmed, while two people were killed in the attack at the airport.
