RAMALLAH: Israel has launched operations in the West Bank after the Gaza ceasefire, and people are being instructed to leave their homes through drones, and dozens of houses have been demolished by the third day of operations.
According to a foreign news agency report, Israeli forces are carrying out operations with a large number of vehicles under the supervision of helicopters and drones, which was carried out in the first week of the Gaza ceasefire.
Israeli officials said that the purpose of the operations in Jenin is to target Iranian-backed fighters in the refugee camp adjacent to the city, where Palestinian armed groups have been present for many years.
Israeli army chief Lt. Gen. Herzi Halilavi said in a statement that we need to be prepared to continue operations in the Jenin camp, which will take us to a different point.
According to the report, military bulldozers have dug up roads and thousands of people in the camp have left their homes, the Palestinians said that they have been ordered to evacuate.
Hussam, a 16-year-old Palestinian citizen, said that yesterday we did not want to leave our homes and we were in our homes, today they sent a drone to our neighborhood and told us to leave the camp or they would blow it up.
Earlier, the Israeli army had martyred two Palestinians while operating inside a building in Birkin outside Jenin and had accused both Palestinians of being involved in the killing of three Israeli soldiers and had also confessed to belonging to Hamas.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said that 12 Palestinians have been martyred and more than 40 injured during Israeli operations in the West Bank so far.
It should be noted that Israel and Hamas signed a ceasefire agreement in the Qatari capital Doha last week and exchanged prisoners in the first phase, after which the return of Palestinians who had migrated from Gaza has begun and a large number of citizens have reached their areas.
Meanwhile, France and Jordan have warned of escalating tensions in the West Bank, where the Israeli army has launched its third major operation in two years.
