Hodeidah: Israel has carried out airstrikes on the Red Sea port of Hodeidah, controlled by the Houthis in Yemen, a day before a drone launched by the group targeted Tel Aviv.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said that the purpose of this air strike is to send a message to the Houthi movement.
Houthi-affiliated media say that three people have been killed and more than 80 injured in the Israeli attacks.
Houthi official Mohammed Abd Salam reported Israel’s brutal aggression against Yemen, saying the attacks were aimed at pressuring the Houthis to stop supporting the Palestinians in Gaza.
This is the first time Israel has directly responded to hundreds of Yemeni drone and missile attacks on its territory in recent months.
According to the news of the British news agency, in the footage of Hodeida port, a fire is seen on Saturday evening. The Houthi-run government in Sana’a has said Israel has targeted offshore oil storage facilities and a nearby power plant.
“The Houthis have attacked us more than 200 times, the first time we attacked them when they harmed an Israeli citizen,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement. And we will do it in any place where it may be needed.
The Israeli prime minister said in his televised address that anyone who harms us will have to pay a heavy price for their aggression.
