Tel Aviv: Israel has agreed to resume ceasefire talks in Gaza.
According to Arab media, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office has said on Thursday that Israel has agreed to resume ceasefire talks in Gaza on August 15 at the request of mediators from the United States, Qatar and Egypt.
In a joint statement yesterday, the leaders of the three countries invited the warring parties to resume talks in Doha or Cairo on August 15 so that the implementation of the agreement can begin without delay.
The leaders of the three countries said a framework agreement is now on the table with only implementation details remaining.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s office said yesterday that Israel will send a negotiating team to a designated location on August 15 to finalize the details of the agreement’s implementation, following statements by the US, Qatar and Egypt.
Recent talks have focused on a framework presented by US President Joe Biden in late May, which he said was suggested by Israel.
