The State Council said that the Punjab government has banned jail meetings based on the law and order situation. Justice Sardar Ejaz inquired whether lawyers’ meetings were also banned.
Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan remarked that whoever issued this notification has also committed contempt of court, if the Punjab government has stopped the meeting of the lawyers, it has committed contempt of court.
The petitioner told the court that since October 3, the jail meeting of the lawyers has not been conducted.
