Iran Warns of Strikes on US Bases in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE Amid Rising Tensions.
Iran has issued a strong warning that it would target United States military bases and installations across the Middle East—including those located in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates—if Washington launches an attack against it.
According to international news agencies, the warning came in response to recent remarks by former US President Donald Trump, who said that if Iran attacked the United States, American forces would strike Iranian targets. Trump also addressed Iranian protesters, suggesting external support for political change.
Iranian officials rejected the statement and conveyed messages to several regional countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Turkey, and others, cautioning that US military facilities on their soil would be considered legitimate targets in the event of hostilities.
Tehran reportedly urged these governments to activate local intelligence networks and place security agencies on high alert to prevent the United States from using regional bases to conduct military operations against Iran.
The warning followed reports by Reuters citing diplomatic sources that the United States had ordered the withdrawal of some military officers from Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the largest US military installation in the Middle East.
In a statement, Qatar’s International Media Office confirmed the temporary relocation of certain personnel from Al-Udeid Air Base, citing heightened regional tensions. The statement emphasized that the move was precautionary.
Qatari authorities said the government continues to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of its citizens and residents, adding that steps are also being taken to protect key installations and military facilities.
Al-Udeid Air Base hosts approximately 10,000 US troops and serves as a critical hub for American military operations across the region.
