ISLAMABAD: Chinese Communist Party Central Committee Member and Minister Liujian Chow has said that institutions and political parties of Pakistan and China have to work together, political stability is necessary for development goals.
He said this while addressing the China-Pakistan Consultative Mechanism meeting held in Islamabad. Deputy Prime Minister Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, PML-N ministers, People’s Party leader Yusuf Raza Gilani, JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and heads and leaders of other political parties were also present in the meeting.
Chinese Minister Liu Jianchao said that the holding of Pakistan-China Consultative Mechanism meeting is welcome. The development of Pakistan and China will benefit both the countries. Pak-China agreements will create new opportunities for development.
He emphasized that institutions and political parties of both countries should work together, political stability is necessary for development goals.
The Chinese minister said that the foundation of Pakistan-China friendship is due to public support, media, students and youth delegations are ready for exchange, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and our leadership have agreed on the upgradation of CPEC.
He further said that the security situation has to be improved for investment because businessmen will invest in Pakistan only because of better security.
All political parties are on the same page on CPEC, Ishaq Dar
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said that the Chinese delegation and the minister are welcome, we had useful discussions in this visit and meeting, the visit of the Chinese delegation will increase mutual trust.
The foreign minister further said that CPEC is a new version of cooperation between the two countries and all political parties are on the same page.
Foreign Office Statement
Earlier, the spokesperson of the Foreign Office has said in his statement that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar was met by Liu Jianchao, Minister of the Central Committee of the International Department of the Communist Party of China. The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister appreciated the positive role of CPEC in socio-economic development and development and prosperity of Pakistan. The Foreign Minister praised the flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative of the President of China.
The Deputy Prime Minister appreciated the unanimous political consensus on CPEC in both countries and expressed Pakistan’s firm commitment to the achievements of CPEC and its second phase for high-quality development.
Liu Jianchao said that as a time-tested friend, China attaches a special place to Pakistan in its foreign policy, and is willing to further strengthen the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership with Pakistan.
Both sides expressed satisfaction over the steady pace of CPEC.
The Chinese Minister said that China will provide full support to Pakistan for the timely implementation of all ongoing and new CPEC projects in Pakistan. Reiterated the desire to further enhance the ties between the Party of China and the political parties of Pakistan.
According to the spokesman, both sides agreed to maintain the momentum of high-level relations and further enhance communication on important regional and global issues.
