Islamabad: The inflation rate in the country has once again increased by 0.67 percent in the past week, while the inflation rate on an annual basis has also increased from 4.16 percent to 4.92 percent. In the past week, 17 items became more expensive and 11 items became cheaper, while the prices of 23 items remained stable.
The weekly inflation report by the Federal Bureau of Statistics on Friday stated that the segment with an income of more than Rs. 44,176 per month was the most affected by inflation in the country during the past week, and the inflation rate for this segment increased by 5.41 percent.
According to the weekly report, during the recent week, potato prices increased by 3.81 percent, egg prices by 3.16 percent, tomato prices by 20.72 percent, ladies sandals prices by 55.62 percent, mustard oil prices by 1.28 percent, garlic prices by 3.42 percent, onion prices by 0.98 percent and ghee prices by 2.30 percent.
Sugar prices decreased by 0.27 percent, gram and gram prices by 1.70 percent, mash prices by 0.23 percent, lentils and lentils by 0.62 percent, chicken prices by 2.97 percent, LPG prices by 0.80 percent, Ari Six Nine rice prices by 0.22 percent and flour prices by 0.25 percent.
The data shows that during the recent week, the inflation rate for the group with an income of up to Rs 17,732 per month increased by 0.91 percent to 3.44 percent on an annual basis in terms of price sensitive decimals, the inflation rate for the group with an income of Rs 17,733 to Rs 22,888 per month increased by 0.85 percent to 3.49 percent, and the inflation rate for the group with an income of Rs 22,889 to Rs 29,517 per month increased by 0.72 percent to 4.92 percent.
Similarly, the inflation rate for the group earning between Rs. 29,518 and Rs. 44,175 per month increased by 0.70 percent to 5 percent, while for the group earning more than Rs. 44,176 per month, the inflation rate increased by 0.61 percent to 5.41 percent.
