After continuous poor performances and defeats, the world’s richest Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has appointed a new coach.
The Indian team is under criticism due to differences and defeats before the Champions Trophy, in such a situation, the Indian Cricket Board has appointed a new batting coach just a few days before the mega event, which has raised more questions and put a question mark on the future of head coach Gautam Gambhir.
The Indian Cricket Board, ignoring big names, has chosen domestic cricket legend Sitanshu Kotak as India’s new batting coach. The famous Saurashtra cricketer has been given the responsibility for the home white-ball series against England.
India’s current coaching staff includes head coach Gautam Gambhir, bowling coach Morne Morkel, fielding coach T. Dilip, and two assistant coaches, Abhishek Nair and Ryan ten Douchet.
Till now, the Indian team did not have a specialist batting coach.
According to Indian media reports, Kotak will take over the role of batting coach ahead of the Champions Trophy tournament, when India will play five T20Is and three ODIs against England starting January 22.
On the other hand, the Indian team’s squad for the Champions Trophy and the series against England will be announced today, while head coach Gautam Gambhir will not attend the press conference, but captain Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar will announce the team.
