New Delhi: India defeated Bangladesh by 86 runs in the second T20I to win the series 2-0.
The second T20 match between India and Bangladesh was played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. In this match, Bangladesh captain Najam Hussain Shanto won the toss and decided to field, which turned out to be quite costly.
Chasing India’s big target of 222 runs, the Bangladesh team could only score 135 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.
On behalf of Bangladesh, Mahmudullah scored the most 41 runs, Pervaiz Hussain scored 16, Latin Das and captain Shantu scored 11 and 11 runs respectively.
Varun Chakraborty and Nitish Reddy took 2, 2 wickets for India.
Earlier, India’s Ranko Singh and Nitish Reddy put on a brilliant batting display. Ranko Singh scored 53 runs off 29 balls while Nitish Reddy scored 74 runs off 34 balls.
Finally, Hardik Pandya also batted brilliantly and scored 32 runs in 19 balls. Rashid Hussain took 3 wickets for Bangladesh.
The third and final T20 between the two teams will be played on October 12 in Hyderabad.
