During net practice at the International Cricket Council Academy on Friday, Kohli was facing fast bowling when a fast ball hit his knee, after which he immediately stopped the practice. The Indian team’s physio staff immediately examined him, sprayed him and bandaged the affected area.
Despite the injury, Kohli remained on the ground and continued to watch the rest of the training session, while he briefed his teammates and coaching staff about his fitness. Later, the Indian coaching staff clarified that Kohli’s injury is not serious and he will be fully fit to play in the final.
It should be noted that the New Zealand team has also suffered a major setback before the final, with their main bowler, 33-year-old Tim Southee, suffering an injury while taking a catch in the semi-final against South Africa.
The final match of the Champions Trophy is of utmost importance for both teams, and cricket fans are eagerly awaiting this match.
