Statistics have shown that there has been an alarming increase in heart diseases among the youth in Pakistan.
Heart attacks and heart disease, once associated with older adults, are now alarmingly common among people in their 30s and 40s.
This was said by Shifa International Hospital Chief of Cardiology Dr. Asad Akbar in a statement issued on the occasion of World Heart Day.
Stressing the importance of lifestyle changes and early intervention to combat the increased risk, he said unhealthy lifestyles, diet, smoking and increased levels of stress contribute to increased heart problems in young adults. There are important factors that must be prevented.
