Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon says that Imran Khan’s allegations are part of a campaign to avoid accountability and fuel political instability.
Reacting to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s open letter to the army chief, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the founder PTI itself came to power in 2018 amidst allegations of electoral engineering. Imran Khan’s allegations are part of his ongoing campaign to avoid accountability and fuel political instability.
Sharjeel Memon said that all constitutional amendments go through a democratic process. The founder PTI’s allegations regarding elected judges are misleading. The founder PTI used Saqib Nisar during his tenure. It is unfortunate that former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar worked as an activist for the founder PTI. The people have not forgotten the nexus between Imran Khan and Saqib Nisar till date. The way Saqib Nisar worked for Pani PTI as a worker is unparalleled in the history of Pakistan.
The senior Sindh minister further said that after losing public support, Imran Khan is trying to malign the democratic process. He tried to exert undue influence on the judiciary during his tenure. His current complaints are hypocritical. Maligning state institutions for personal political gain is irresponsible and detrimental to national stability. The founders of PTI should respect democratic institutions and refrain from spreading false narratives. Pakistan needs political maturity and stability, not divisive rhetoric due to personal grudges.
