Details of the investigation into the May 9 incidents, a tragedy carried out during the caretaker government’s tenure, have come to light.
Sources said that the report states that the incidents of May 9, 2023, were carried out under regular planning, and that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan was directly involved in these incidents.
Sources said that the report states that dozens of PTI leaders played a role in inciting the violence, however, despite the establishment of cases against Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, their names are not included in the investigation report.
Sources said that the investigation report includes the names of Hammad Azhar, Zartaj Gul, Murad Saeed, Ali Amin Gandapur, and Shandana Gulzar.
Apart from this, the investigation report has also named Farrukh Habib, Ali Zaidi, Kanwal Shozab, Shehryar Afridi as involved, Senator Ijaz Chaudhry, Faisal Javed, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Mahmud-ur-Rashid as involved.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf members Omar Cheema, Hassan Niazi, Alia Hamza, Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, and Mussrat Cheema were also involved in these violent incidents.
According to sources, Aleema Khan has also been found involved in inciting violence, Sadaqat Abbasi, Wasiq Qayyum, Nosheen Hamid, Aamir Dogar, and Zain Qureshi were also supporting the acts of violence on May 9.
Apart from these leaders, more than 80 leaders including Tayyaba Ibrahim, Shabana Fayyaz, Azhar Mir, and Aamir Mughal have been found involved in the incidents of May 9.
