Rawalpindi: Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has rejected the house arrest deal and stressed the demand for political change in the country.
PTI founder Imran Khan, who is imprisoned in Adiala Jail, has rejected the house arrest deal.
The report said that Imran Khan claimed in a post on the social networking website that he was offered a deal to negotiate with the government and provide political opportunities to his party, under which he would keep me under house arrest in his residence in Bani Gala.
Imran Khan stressed that he would prefer to stay in jail rather than accept such a deal and insisted that all PTI prisoners be released first.
In a statement, the PTI founder called on Pakistanis living abroad to boycott remittances, calling it important for true freedom and restoration of democracy in the country.
He said that the remittances should be boycotted until the government takes meaningful steps to meet their demands, but he indicated that if the results of the talks are positive, the campaign can be abandoned.
In his statement, Imran Khan also criticized the trial of PTI workers in military courts related to the May 9 incidents and condemned it as a violation of transparency and civil rights.
He said that the trial should be held in an open court with video evidence, which is required by the Constitution of Pakistan.
It should be noted that talks to reduce political tension between the government and the PTI have begun formally and the first round of them has also been held.
