A special meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif reviewed the progress of Nawaz Sharif IT City, Central Business District Project and Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) projects.

The meeting was briefed that the local campus of Imperial College London will be established in Nawaz Sharif IT City, the foundation stone of which will be laid in November this year. A 300-bed state-of-the-art hospital will also be built in the campus.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed that the Roda Primary Dam on the Ravi River be completed before possible floods. She emphasized on the early completion of all future projects and directed to submit a quarterly report.
The meeting was informed that a two-year target has been set for the completion of Roda Phase One, while the Chief Minister also sought a viable business plan for Roda. During the briefing, it was informed that the construction of the Ravi Dam will protect Lahore from the threat of floods.
The meeting was informed that Chinese and Turkish companies have shown interest in investing in the Entertainment City, DOF Robotic and U-Band Pleasure companies have expressed their desire to invest in the theme park, where an 80-seater flying theater will also be built.
It was further informed that various international organizations have also shown interest in Silicon City, University Block, ASTRA Block and Film City. The meeting was informed that 78 percent of the construction of the IT tower in Nawaz Sharif IT City has been completed, while Ravi City will be Pakistan’s first completely green city.
